Life Sciences- Pharmaceuticals
This leading international pharmaceutical company approached Proco Global to fulfil a search for a Supply Chain Lead in their Indonesian operations.
The client had been very impressed with our previous search delivery in Hong Kong and Singapore, where we had successfully filled niche roles for them in 2012 and 2013. Their personal experience of the Indonesian market was that candidates lacked the strong planning and stakeholder engagement skills required for their roles.
For this role, they had a strong preference for a candidate from within the Pharmaceutical industry, and it was essential that any potential candidates fit within their tight budget. The successful candidate would need to have extremely strong leadership and senior stakeholder engagement skills, necessary to optimize the SnOP process, and build bridges within a new commercial team. It was a pivotal role for the development of the business in this fast growing emerging region.
Our research team began mapping the market by identifying senior Supply Chain executives in nine other pharmaceutical Life Science organisations across Indonesia. Each long-listed candidate was screened, ascertaining their communication and leadership suitability and salary expectations.
Within one week, we presented a shortlist of five potential candidates, four from within the industry and a candidate from outside the industry who we felt had the leadership and technical competencies for the role. We were commended for introducing a strong non-Pharmaceutical alternative for the role, who could have brought a different perspective into the organisation.
The successful candidate was from a direct Pharmaceutical competitor, and we were able to secure their move on a minimal salary increment.
Impressed with the level of professionals put forward, the client has continued their partnership with Proco Global by engaging us on several other searches regionally.
