In early 2014 Proco Global was approached by a cargo handling machinery company to fill the position of Sourcing Director Moffett Truck Mounted Forklifts & Category Director Electrics at HIAB following the departure of the incumbent, based in Ireland.
The role would be responsible for 6 direct reports and a spend volume of $200 million for the HIAB business unit.
Reporting to VP Global Sourcing the objective of the role is to manage costs effectively helping the client successfully hit their cost down and profitability targets for the next 5 years.
As part of the search we conducted market mapping across the clients’ key competitors in material mapping and industrial equipment. An initial list of 79 potential candidates, sourced through a combination of referrals and market mapping were identified and discreetly approached. Our dedicated global research team conducted competency and technical interviews with the extended list, focusing on technical experience and understanding.
A concise shortlist of five suitable candidates was presented to the client within four weeks of the initial briefing. From the shortlist the successful candidate was selected in May 2014 to commence from September 2014. The client was impressed with quality of candidates put forward by Proco Global, especially within the timeframe with the assignment completed within ten weeks.
